The internet could not keep calm when a bride driving a Thar at her wedding recorded millions of likes, shares, tweets and comments on social media platforms. It was no different from a celebrity wedding. While everything about the video was perfect, there was one thing that stood out in all — the men behind the camera.

That’s what award-winning photographers’ work is all about — capturing the real emotions. The duo Eeshan Peer (26) and Junaid Bhat (26) is trying to change the way people perceive wedding photography in Kashmir and we can say they have already been successful in it!

Eeshan believes that as a photographer you have done your job well, when you get best emotional shot of a couple.

He says that being behind the lens at weddings is challenging as you have to spot those ‘magical moments’ and then recreate the wedding scenes. You can’t just miss a moment. Blink an eye and your shot is gone!

The duo began their career as photo journalists who would usually capture daily life in the valley. The journey for them has been a roller coaster from being job-seeking photographers to entrepreneurs who now run first of its kind super studios which offer various services under a single umbrella in North Kashmir’s Sopore. JB Studio and Pixel Video Studio have been a hit and talk of the town since its inception. The studio provides various services like wedding shoots, product shoots and various commercial shoots under a single umbrella at affordable prices.

“Our studio hasn’t only been offering services but also job opportunities to the newbies trying to make a career in photography and cinematography. The studio is loaded with significant level types of gear which gives openness to the amateurs. We are planning to organize workshops for aspiring photographers, media students at our studios,” Junaid said.

He said that Kashmiri weddings convey their very own alternate appeal, more so on account of the heavenly beauty associated with this wonderful land and also because of the deeply spiritual roots their wedding customs carry.

On the other hand Eeshan believes that wedding photography is insane! The amount of fun you have plus the people you get to meet and the food is really fascinating.

“Weddings are a socially acceptable form where I can go and click to capture people in their natural state. What can be more beautiful than making a difference in someone’s life and preserving their memories,” he added.

He said that the response for wedding photography is very much good and their team of two editors, lightman, and camera assistant are already booked for the coming months.

Starting from a DSLR camera, the proud owners of JB Studio and Pixel Video Studio now own professional cameras, lights, drone, gimbal, tripod and other equipment.
