Samba, Nov 18: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MLA Samba, Surjeet Singh Slathia on Monday said every effort will be made to pursue the Prime Minister’s development agenda in Jammu and Kashmir despite being in the opposition.
Interacting with people after kick-starting macadamisation of Samba Mansar Double Road at an estimated cost of Rs 80 lakh, Slathia said a strong infrastructural edifice has been laid during the past five years that is needed to be sustained and carried forward in a missionary mode.
“Our collective efforts are aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir. The steps taken in education, healthcare, employment and connectivity have brought remarkable progress, and we must carry this forward with dedication and unity,” he said, hoping that the people will play a participatory role in development by monitoring the schemes.
The MLA Samba referred to the measures taken for enhanced infrastructure in terms of highways, bridges and road connectivity carried out in the recent past to boost economic opportunities. “The interests of every segment were taken care of, especially the youth by launching skill development to channelise their energies towards positive pursuits. The tourism revival has been a focused area that benefitted both regions by way of a fillip to pilgrim and adventure tourism,” he said.
Slathia said the BJP will work in a mission mode to realise the PM’s vision of Naya Jammu and Kashmir.
The party’s J&K vice president exhorted the Karykartas to remain proactive in seeking redressal to the public grievances and assured the locals that all the issues raised during his visit would be taken up at appropriate levels for redressing these earnestly.
