Jammu, July 29: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government of cheating the youth and unemployed.
“The government is avoiding accountability and failing to address important issues,” he said while speaking at a meeting of party workers in Ward-29, Block-3 West Constituency, Subash Nagar.
Bhalla said the Congress Party has always protected the interests of all sections of society, particularly the downtrodden and marginalized and ensured their participation in every sphere of life, including political empowerment.
He said many educated youth are unemployed, with their families having invested heavily in their education. “There is a need for proper planning and execution to overcome the current economic and social crisis, rather than relying on slogans and speeches,” he said.
The JKPCC leader said the Congress Party is committed to sacrificing everything for the country. He slammed the BJP government for issues such as inflation, unemployment and rising prices of essential commodities like petrol, diesel, and cooking gas. He also accused the government of nepotism and favouritism in job allocations, saying that selected candidates are struggling to secure appointments.
“Congress has a history of implementing pro-poor and pro-oppressed policies since independence, and has been ensuring job rights and protecting the interests of refugees and poor farmers,” he said. “The BJP caused misery through unprecedented price hikes and heavy taxation, which are affecting the poor, common people, educated unemployed and daily wage earners.”
The Congress Party would rectify the BJP government’s “wrongs” and introduce people-friendly and pro-poor policies in Jammu & Kashmir, Bhalla promised.
