Srinagar, Nov 06: Following the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly’s passage of the resolution calling for the restoration of Article 370, all 28 BJP legislators staged a strong protest, condemning the move as part of an “anti-national agenda.”

As BJP members stormed the Well of the House, they raised slogans rejecting the resolution. “This is an anti-national agenda, and we reject it,” the protesting lawmakers shouted.

BJP leader Sham Lal Sharma climbed onto the table in the Well of the House, accusing the National Conference (NC) of exploiting the sentiments of J&K’s people since 1947. “Yesterday, you spoke differently. Article 370 is settled; this political stunt will not work. From Sheikh Abdullah to Omar Abdullah, J&K’s emotions have been used for political gain,” Sharma said. He also criticized the Speaker for allegedly siding with the ruling party.

While still positioned in the Well of the House, BJP legislators continued to raise their voices, chanting slogans such as “Jahan Huway Balidan Mukherji, wo Kashmir hamara hai,” “Desh drohi agenda nahi chalega,” “Aug 5 Zindabad,” “Anti-national agenda nahi chalega,” “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” and “Jai Shri Ram.”

The Leader of Opposition (LoP) accused the National Conference of attempting to change the name of Shankaracharya Hills to Takht-e-Sulaimani, calling it part of their broader agenda. “We will not allow this,” the BJP MLAs declared in unison as they remained in the Well of the House.
