Rajouri, Jan 27: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of patriotism.
The event began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza (JKAS), Registrar of BGSBU, in the presence of university staff. The unfurling of the tricolour was accompanied by the national anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. In his address, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza reflected on India’s rich and diverse history, paying tribute to the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters who laid the foundation of an independent and democratic nation.
He traced the journey of India’s independence, highlighting the resilience and determination that culminated in the adoption of the Constitution in 1950. Mirza emphasised the enduring significance of Republic Day as a celebration of democratic values, unity in diversity, and the fundamental rights and responsibilities enshrined in the Constitution. He urged attendees to honour these principles by contributing selflessly and diligently to the nation’s progress. The solemn ceremony left attendees with a renewed sense of pride and commitment to national development.
