Srinagar, Aug 22: In connection with the nationwide celebration of National Sports, Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), district Baramulla, organised a series of activities under the inspiring theme ‘Har Gali, Har Maidan, Khele Sara Hindustan – Khele Bhi, Khile Bhi.’According to a statement issued here, as part of the celebrations, sports week was observed with great enthusiasm across different zones of the district, including Zone Uri, Zone Jhulla, and Zone Chandanwari. The week-long activities featured a poster rally, aerobic exercises, recreational activities, fun games, fitness-related events, and a specially organized Run for Girls, all aimed at promoting sports culture, physical fitness, and active lifestyles among the youth. The main event was held at High School Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla, where 145 students from various zones of the district participated with zeal and energy. The celebration turned into a vibrant display of fitness, joy, and sportsmanship, reflecting the true spirit of National Sports Day, which is dedicated to the memory of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The department reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing sports talent, encouraging physical well-being, and spreading awareness about the importance of fitness and active participation in sports among the younger generation.
