Pulwama, April 14: One person was killed and five others were injured in a road accident on Srinagar Jammu highway at Chersoo in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday, police officials said.
The officials informed Rising Kashmir that there was a collision between two vehicles near Chersoo crossing on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Sunday afternoon.
They added that after the collision one driver lost control over his vehicle as a result some pedestrians were hit near the crossing.
Police officials said that the road accident left one dead and five others injured.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospital where they have been referred to SMHS Srinagar for further treatment and one with minor injuries was discharged.
Officials identified the injured as Lali Jan, Zubaida Akhter, Abdul Hamid, Aalima Jan and Noor Huda Miya.
The officials identified the dead as Samiya Jan, 40, wife of Mudasir Ahmad, a resident of Panzgam, Pulwama.
