Kathua, Aug 31: A series of events under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program were successfully conducted on Saturday across various schools, Anganwadis, and polling stations in Assembly Constituency (AC) 68 Hiranagar.
These activities were held under the supervision of AC Nodal Officer 68- Hiranagar assembly constituency Priya Lakshmi (CDPO Hiranagar) aimed at strengthening the democratic process and fostering a culture of informed and active participation among voters.
At Anganwadi Centre (AWC) Pheruchack B, a symbolic tree plantation ceremony was held, signifying the growth and nurturing of democracy. The event was attended by Tehsildars of Hiranagar and Marheen, along with the Block Development Officer (BDO) Hiranagar. Anganwadi workers joined hands in taking the voter’s pledge and signed their commitment to spread the message of “My Vote, My Nation” to every household within the constituency.
Students from Government Higher Secondary Schools in Marheen, Chakra, Hiranagar, and Government High Schools in Kootah and Chack Handa enthusiastically participated in various activities such as the voter’s pledge, painting, poster-making competitions, and poem recitations. These events were organized with the objective of instilling the values of democracy in young minds and encouraging them to become responsible citizens.
In addition, the Booth Level Officer (BLO) at Polling Station Garah motivated the electorate, urging them to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections. The SVEEP activities today serve as a reminder of the crucial role every individual plays in shaping the democratic future of the nation.
These initiatives are part of a larger effort to enhance voter awareness and ensure maximum participation in the democratic process within AC 68 Hiranagar. The commitment and enthusiasm shown by all participants, from students to government officials, reflect a collective dedication to strengthening the democratic fabric of our society.
