Srinagar, June 27: The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General PK Mishra, at a high-level security review, visited the Headquarters of Romeo Force to assess operational preparedness and evaluate the prevailing security dynamics in the sensitive Poonch-Rajouri sector.
The GOC commended Romeo Force for its sustained and proactive counter-terrorism operations in the region, underlining the need to maintain relentless pressure on infiltrating groups and preserve peace in the border areas.
“The security environment remains dynamic. Our focus is on maintaining a high state of readiness and dominating the operational space with precision and technology. The troops have displayed exemplary courage and commitment in safeguarding the region,” a senior Army official said during the visit.
Earlier on Thursday, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, carried out a comprehensive review of the security situation in North and South Kashmir under the operational area of the Chinar Corps.
He was briefed on recent developments and witnessed a live demonstration of automated software and intelligent surveillance systems, which showcased the Army’s push for tech-enabled operational efficiency in counter-insurgency and surveillance operations.
The Army Commander interacted with forward-deployed troops, appreciating their dedication and resilience.
“Our soldiers continue to display unmatched professionalism. Their morale and sense of duty are a testament to the Indian Army’s core values and commitment to national security,” the Army officer said.
He said that visits underlines Army’s unwavering focus on adapting to emerging threats, leveraging technology, and staying mission-ready across all sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.
