New Delhi, Dec 07: In a staunch display of solidarity, LG Electronics, India’s foremost consumer durable company, has announced a generous contribution of INR 1 Crore to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF) under its Kar Salaam initiative. The timely donation precedes the solemn observance of Armed Forces Flag Day on Thursday, an annual commemoration that pays homage to the valor and sacrifices of India’s military personnel who safeguard the nation’s borders.
The Kar Salaam initiative, introduced by LG in 2017, stands as a testament to the company’s enduring commitment to supporting the Indian Armed Forces. Through this substantial contribution, LG aims to express profound gratitude to the soldiers who exhibit unwavering dedication and courage in preserving the nation’s honor. The Armed Forces Flag Day is dedicated to honoring the martyrs and servicemen who have valiantly defended the country throughout its history.
Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director of LG India, emphasized the company’s deep-rooted connection to India, stating, “LG recognizes the immense contribution of our Armed Forces. The Kar Salaam initiative is our humble way of expressing gratitude to the brave hearts who have selflessly dedicated themselves to the nation. We are honored to stand alongside them in their service.”
The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund serves as a crucial resource for the welfare of soldiers and their families. Commenting on LG’s contribution, Cmde H.P. Singh, Secretary Kendriya Sainik Board, expressed heartfelt thanks, stating, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to LG Electronics for their consistent support and for motivating others to join in contributing to the welfare of those who have dedicated their lives for the nation. The Kar Salaam initiative has, over the years, significantly raised awareness and facilitated fund generation.”
The donation is expected to contribute to the well-being of war widows, children of martyrs, war-disabled soldiers, and ex-servicemen. LG’s pledge not only reflects corporate responsibility but also serves as an inspiration for others to participate in supporting the noble cause of the Armed Forces.
