Annual inter zone district level tournament organised in Samba to promote sports culture

Samba, May 30: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Samba, on Tuesday organised the Annual Inter Zone District Level Tournament for U 14 and U 17 boys and girls here in the Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium.
The tournament witnessed competitions in various disciplines including Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Tug-of-war.
The event was graced by the presence of Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Samba, as the Chief Guest. The DC addressed the student players, encouraging them to participate with true sportsmanship and emphasizing the importance of sports in their lives.
To mark the commencement of the tournament, all participating student players took an oath to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event. A total of 200 student players from all zones of District Samba actively participated in the competitions. The event witnessed the enthusiastic presence of the district’s field staff, demonstrating their support for the young athletes.
The Annual Inter Zone District Level Tournament was held under the patronage of Subhash Chibber, Director of Youth Services & Sports, J&K Jammu. Jatinder Mishra, Dy. Director YSS, serves as the Chairman of the tournament, with Suramchand Sharma as the Vice Chairman. DYSSO Samba, Chander Kanta supervised the event.
This prestigious tournament not only showcases the sporting talent of the youth but also aims to foster a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among the participants. It provides a platform to young athletes to excel in their respective disciplines and encourages the development of a robust sports culture within the district.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Samba, extended its gratitude to all the participants, officials, and supporters for their contribution in making this tournament a resounding success. The ongoing enthusiasm and commitment towards promoting sports in the region are commendable.
