Trivandrum, Mar 09: Right-arm leg spinner, Ananaya Sharma displayed extraordinary spinning skills to take 4 important wickets and guide Jammu and Kashmir to convincing victory by 6 wickets over minnows Mizoram in the ongoing Women’s U-23 One Day Trophy at St Xavier’s KCA Cricket Stadium, Trivandrum today.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Mizoram bundled out for a paltry total of 54 runs in 27.4 overs. Nunmawii was the only batter to cross the double figure mark, scoring 12 runs off 28 balls studded with 2 fours, while the other batters failed to show any application against the disciplined bowling of J&K bowlers. Ananaya Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for Jammu and Kashmir, who took 4 wickets by conceding 15 runs in her 6.4 overs, while Speedster Mariya Noorain bagged 2 wickets by giving away 5 runs in her 5 overs. Ronak Jahan and skipper Rudrakshi Chib claimed one wicket each.
In reply, J&K chased the target easily in 9.4 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus winning the match by 6 wickets. Chitra Singh Jamwal top scored with 18 runs off 16 balls studded with 4 boundaries, while skipper Rudrakshi contributed unbeaten 11 runs with 2 fours. For Mizoram, Zdi took 2 wickets while Jacinta and Sandhia claimed one wicket each. J&K has played three matches so far in this tournament and registered victories against formidable Jharkhand and minnows Mizoram, while it lost against strong Uttar Pradesh. The Jammu and Kashmir team is being accompanied by Roopali Slathia as the Head Coach, Irshad Hassan as the Manager, Jyoti Bala as the Assistant Coach, Anuradha Sharma as the Co-Manager, Satika Sharma as the Trainer, Bisma Gulzar as the Physiotherapist and Mujtaba Yousuf as the Video Analyst. J&K will take on Goa in the next outing on March 11..
