Srinagar, June 25:The Divisional administration, Kashmir, has announced the completion of all arrangements and preparations for the annual Amarnath pilgrimage set to commence on July 1.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, assured that comprehensive measures have been taken to ensure a safe and convenient journey for the devotees.
Bidhuri stated that various essential facilities have been finalized, including accommodation, security, installation of Wi-Fi, power and water supply, cleanliness and sanitation, and medical services. He emphasized that special attention has been given to the relocation of individuals residing in sensitive or hazardous areas, aiming to avoid the tragic incidents witnessed during the pilgrimage in 2022.
In light of enhancing the pilgrims’ experience, Bidhuri informed that the government has diligently illuminated the Yatra track from Kalimata to the Holy Cave, as well as from Dumail to Sangam. The preparations are currently in full swing, ensuring a smooth and safe journey for the devotees.
The pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath Cave can be undertaken through two routes: the traditional 48-kilometer path via Pahalgam in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, and the shorter 14-kilometer but steep Baltal route in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.
Last year, the pilgrimage witnessed a significant turnout, with 3.45 lakh individuals visiting the holy cave. It is anticipated that this year’s numbers could reach up to 5 lakh devotees.
To ensure the highest level of security, the authorities have strategically deployed CCTV cameras and drones to monitor the entire pilgrimage along both routes, effectively bolstering safety measures.
The Divisional administration Kashmir, along with various government agencies, remains committed to facilitating a successful and secure Amarnath Yatra, fostering a spiritually enriching experience for the devotees.
