Srinagar, June 21: In a significant step towards enhancing emergency response on city roads, Amandeep Hospital, in collaboration with the Srinagar Traffic Police, conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for traffic personnel on Friday. The training aimed to equip traffic cops with vital life-saving skills to efficiently handle road accidents and other emergencies.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, SSP Traffic Police City Srinagar, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, emphasized the critical role of traffic police as first responders. “It is important for traffic cops to know how to deal with emergency situations like accidents. We are the first to reach the scene, and if we don’t know how to save lives, it is unfortunate,” Bhat said.
He further lauded the efforts of Amandeep Hospital for organizing the session, calling the presentation and hands-on training both informative and impactful. “We are thankful to the Amandeep team for the quality training provided today,” he added.
The BLS training session covered key aspects such as CPR, bleeding control, airway management, and initial trauma care—skills considered essential for traffic personnel often present at the frontline of road mishaps.
