JAMMU, Feb 09: JAMMU, Feb 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to deploy air ambulances during the upcoming G-20 Summit in J&K, and the J&K UT Government would approach the Civil Aviation Ministry with a formal request in this regard, according to reliable sources.
The decision to have air ambulances in place during the upcoming G-20 Summit in J&K was made to deal with any type of health emergency, as high-profile and highly protected individuals from 19 developed and developing countries will be visiting Kashmir valley to participate in the Summit, according to sources.
When Rising Kashmir contacted Dr. Yashpal Sharma, Director Coordination, Government Medical Colleges (GMCs), J&K, he stated that the decision to have Air Ambulances in place for the upcoming G-20 Summit 2023 was made in a high level meeting held yesterday evening.
The high level meeting of health officials of J&K was chaired by Secretary, Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department, Bhupinder Kumar. The agenda of the meeting was to review and finalise the medical arrangements for the upcoming G-20 Summit in the Kashmir valley.
Sources also informed that a task force will also be constituted by involving Army for overall healthcare facilities and fool-proof arrangements for the G-20 Summit in the valley.
Critical Care Ambulances equipped with all life support system will also be put in place/deployed at all the venues of the G-20 meet and also along the routes where the visiting dignitaries are scheduled to move for any purpose, sources further informed.
Dr Yashpal Sharma further informed that that a control room will also be set up to supervise the working of health department staff round the clock and other functionaries besides ensuring adherence to other prescribed protocol.
G-20 is an inter-government cooperation forum of world’s major developing and developed economies of nineteen (19) countries and the European Union.
