Adopt modern technologies: MLA Kulgam to farmers

Kulgam, Aug 28: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kulgam, Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday chaired a review meeting of the Horticulture department here.The Chief Horticulture Officer, Kulgam, presented a comprehensive overview of the department’s achievements in the district during the previous and current years under various centrally and UT-sponsored schemes. He outlined the key activities and initiatives planned for implementation during the ongoing financial year 2025-26.The MLA said that horticulture, being the backbone of the district’s economy, requires sustained focus and intensified efforts. He urged officials to work with greater dedication to ensure the economic upliftment of the farming community and the effective implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.Tarigami impressed upon the officers to incorporate modern technologies and best practices for farmers to enhance both the quality and quantity of horticulture produce.
