Chandigarh, Nov 24: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Friday strongly condemned the AAP government in Punjab for “failing” to address the grievances of farmers.
In a statement, Chugh said, “It is so unfortunate that the AAP used farmers as its vote bank making tall promises to improve their plight. But now when they are in crisis and have been demanding due hike in sugarcane prices the Bhagwant Mann government has turned its back on them.”
The BJP leader recalled how the Modi government at the Centre has been constantly raising MSP on all crops to help farmers improve their income, while the AAP government in Punjab has “miserably failed” to help them.
“The AAP government should stop playing politics with farmers who constitute the backbone of the society,” Chugh said.
