Srinagar May 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Monday paid tributes to the first Prime Minister of India, Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary, highlighting his “great contributions” and “selfless services” in the nation building.
In a function held at the Srinagar Party office, Congress leaders and workers led by Senior Vice President Ghulam Nabi Monga paid tributes to Pt. Nehru on his 60th death anniversary. Senior Vice President Mohd Anwar Bhat, Vice Presidents, General Secretaries and DCC President and other senior leaders also spoke on the occasion.
Monga on the occasion said, “Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Ji was a man of development and unity. he brought India to par with fast-developing countries around the globe. The five-year reconstruction plan of the first Prime Minister after the Independence proved a milestone in the inclusive development of the nation, which infused self-confidence among the countrymen, who did realise that they would achieve what they desired due to the strenuous efforts and selfless services of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. He left no stone unturned to make all Indians self-reliant irrespective of their region and religion.”
The best way to remember Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary is to rise to the occasion to fight for safeguarding the democracy and the democratic institutions in the country, Monga added.
