54 selected cricketers set to grab opportunity in JKCA’s Women’s Cricket League

Jammu, May 02: The selected 54 women cricketers across J&K were all set to grab the opportunity in the first of its kind JKCA’s Women’s Cricket League, which commenced with a One-Dayer at JKCA Hostel ground here on Thursday.
The players divided into four teams will have to play three 2-day matches and a one-dayer.
The League began with a One-Dayer between the two teams led by the star cricketers of Jammu and Kashmir namely Sarla Devi and Sandhya Sayal.
This is the platform to live dreams for women cricketers of Jammu and Kashmir as they will get ample opportunity in 2-day matches to showcase their cricketing skill.
Apart from the top women cricketers of the Union Territory, the list includes few big names who have also served other States/UTs earlier, which include Jaisa Akhter, Chitra Singh Jamwal and Shivanti Gupta.
These cricketers will be showcasing their cricketing skill under the watchful eyes of the Selectors for the League including Ms Surabhi Dadheechi, Ms Ankita Jalla, Ms Masarat Ahad and Ms Pratibha Bhasin.
Ms Meenu Singh Slathia and Ms Summayah Jan have been appointed as the Coaches cum Incharges of the Camp, while Mr Rohit Rana and Ms Satika Sharma are the Trainers for the Camp. Dr Lovely Bansal and Ms Diya have been appointed as the physiotherapists.
It is pertinent to mention here that apart from the players who had represented the JKCA at the national scene last season, the players have been picked from the Talent Hunt 2024 as JKCA has already shortlisted the probable in the women’s U-23, U-19 and U-15 teams for 2024-25 season.
