Two drug peddlers held in Baramulla and Kulgam

Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Kulgam & Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

A spokesperson said that a Police party of Police Station Qazigund at a checkpoint established at Nassu on NHW, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a nylon bag. During search, officers were able to recover 300 grams of Charas from his possession. He has been identified as Basit Ahmad Mir son of Nazir Ahmad Mir a resident of Chiedhama Mirbazar. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Meanwhile in Baramulla, a Police party of Police Station Tangmarg headed by SHO PS Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Devdragar Tangmarg, intercepted a person identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Mir son of Habibullah resident of Devdragar Tangmarg. During search, 30 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Tangmarg where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigations have been initiated.
