Ganderbal, April 19: In a recent incident on the Srinagar-Leh highway near Ranga Morh Zojila in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, a swift Dzire car traveling from Kargil to Jammu met with an accident, leaving five individuals injured, including two women.
The car, bearing registration number JK02BG/2903, reportedly skidded off the road and fell into a 30 ft deep gorge after the driver lost control. Among the injured were two women passengers.
Prompt response from the Sonmarg SHO and Traffic Police, along with their teams, led to the immediate evacuation of the victims to PHC Sonamarg. Three of the injured were later shifted to JVC Hospital Srinagar for further medical attention.
The injured individuals were identified as Anop Sharma (28), Ekta Kumari (24), Retika Sharma (25), Hemanshi Sharma (03), and Hari Om Sharma (23), all residents of Jammu.
In a separate incident, a Tampo Traveller in Satruna Kangan, with registration number JK02AA/3022, collided with a tree, resulting in vehicle damage. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. Police have initiated an investigation into both accidents.
