Ganderbal, Mar 21: Transport Commissioner Rajinder Singh Tara spearheaded a comprehensive assessment of operational functions during his recent visit to Ganderbal and Sonmarg.
Joined by other officers including RTO Kashmir Syed Shah Nawaz Bukhari, ARTO Ganderbal Wajahat Qayoom, ARTO Flying Squad Mubashir Jan, Inspector Manzoor Qureshi, and other officials, Commissioner Tara meticulously evaluated the performance of key facilities.
The visit commenced with an in-depth scrutiny of the ARTO office in Ganderbal, where Commissioner Tara personally reviewed its operational processes and effectiveness.
Subsequently, attention turned to the Sonmarg weigh bridge, where traffic conditions were meticulously assessed. Addressing concerns surrounding understaffing at the Sonmarg weigh bridge, Commissioner Tara assured swift action to rectify the situation, promising imminent resolution.
Moreover, discussions were held regarding the relocation of the weigh bridge upon the completion of the Z-Mor tunnel, highlighting the forward-looking approach of the transport authorities to optimize infrastructure placement for maximum efficacy.He also visited the site of land allocated for the construction of the ARTO Office.
