Srinagar, Dec 09: The vehicular traffic movement on 270 Kilometer Srinagar Jammu National Highway remained disrupted for several hours on Friday due to power shutdown inside Chenani-Nashri Tunnel., officials said.
SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma told Rising Kashmir that vehicular traffic was disrupted inside the Chenani-Nashri Tunnel before being resumed. “After several hours, traffic resumed along the tunnel,” she said.
The traffic advisory issued by J&K Traffic Police Department states that subject to fair weather and road clearance, LMVs Passenger and private cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
“TCU Jammu, Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic,” it said.
“While as HMVs shall be allowed from Jakhani (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the road and traffic situation on NH-44. TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs,” reads the advisory.
Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Leh road was closed for vehicular movement after fresh snowfall at ZojiLa Pass keeping in view the slippery condition of the road.
Similarly historic Mughal Road has been closed for vehicular movement due to fresh snowfall at Pir Ki Gali and other areas along the highway.
