Udhampur, Jan 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania on Sunday said certain political parties and leaders in the union territory are actively attempting to polarize and communalize the situation in the lead-up to the consecration ceremony of ‘Shri Ram Lala’ in Ayodhya.
Addressing a gathering of party cadres and the public during the conclusion of the ‘Booth Jan Samvad’ program at Amara (Majalta), Pathania specifically referenced statements from Congress, SP, TMC, NCP, and some other national and J&K political leaders, saying these leaders and parties have already faced rejection due to their divisive rhetoric.
He said the construction of the historic temple in Ayodhya has put an end to a centuries-old dispute, promoting peace, mutual coexistence, non-aggression, morality, and the cultivation of individual character.
“Lord Ram’s messages transcend religious, regional, and geographical boundaries, advocating for qualities such as dignity, forgiveness, strength, humility, compassion, and care for all,” he said.
Pathania criticized certain political parties, especially the National Conference, for engaging in the “politics of appeasement, polarization, and communalism” in J&K since independence.
He praised the grand ceremony in Ayodhya for initiating reconciliation and a new renaissance in India’s history, emphasizing the importance of national pride. The BJP spokesperson said the people of J&K reject divisive tactics and stand by the “trailblazing” initiatives of the Modi government, commending Narendra Modi as a significant figure in India’s social, political and cultural landscape.
During the event, local artists Mohan Lal and Bablu Kumar entertained the audience with songs and skits highlighting the developmental initiatives of the Modi government. Notable attendees included Mohan Lal Sharma, Mandal President; Capt Gopal Singh Mankotia, Mandal President; Ved Pal Sharma, Mandal General Secretary; Shiv Ram, Mandal General Secretary; Romesh Gupta; Manoj Verma; Anil Sharma; Bikram Singh; Shukar Din; Altaf Hussain; Shokat Ali; Mohinder Sharma; Balbir Singh; Ankush Verma; Sanjeev Singh, and others.
