Budgam, OCTOBER 23: Under Jan Abhiyan programme and as a preliminary to Back to village phase four, Krishi Vikas Kendra (KVK) Budgam and SKUAST-K on Sunday conducted awarness cum field visits on Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) at Sangam, Soibug and Haran areas of Budgam.
During the programme, Dr. Mir Nadeem (Scientist Animal Science) visited various livestock owners and prescribed treatment of the disease.
People were advised not to panic but to take utmost precautions to prevent the economic losses due to this disease. It was also suggested that farmers must take preventive measures like restricted movement of animals, isolation of clinically ill animals and control of insect vectors.
Livestock owners were also advised to contact the members of task force/ Rapid Action Team designated by the District Administration/ SKUAST-Kashmir incase of any eventuality.
