Indian Economic Service Exam topper Arjun Gupta, today said that J&K has enough potential to lead the country in its overall growth and development if youth are guided in the right direction.
“J&K could drive India’s growth and development with the immense potential the UT has got ,” Arjun Gupta told in an exclusive interview to Rising Kashmir.
The IES Exam topper further said that there were several names written in history with golden words, of those who have brought laurels to the UT by excelling at all India level exams or  in other fields like sports.
“We have many names from J&K like Shah Faisel, Simrandeep Singh and others who have set examples for generations to come and have achieved the milestones with their hard work,” Gupta told Rising Kashmir adding, “We should dream big and must follow our dreams passionately with hard work”.
The IES topper from J&K also attributed his  success  to the security forces for providing a conducive environment not only for education but for activities in various fields in J&K.
“I was in class 1st   in Army School KaluChak, Jammu, when there was a terrorist attack in Kaluchak,” he said adding, “I remember the Army personnel carrying the students in their vehicles for our safety and to ensure that education of the students doesn’t suffer at any cost”.
The IES topper also told Rising Kashmir that although there is always a room for improvement, the New Education Policy (NEP) will prove to be very effective for the J&K youth as envisaged by the Government of India under this policy.
He said that he is now preparing for IAS exams which are scheduled in March this year as it is his dream to qualify the same.
To mention, this is for the first time that a candidate from J&K has topped in the prestigious IES exam. This was Arjun’s first attempt for the IES exam. A total of 23 candidates from across the country have qualified the prestigious IES exam this year.
Hailing from remote village of Ramkot in Billawar area of Kathua district, Arjun Gupta is currently putting up at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
