Srinagar, Jan 02: Stating that Rajouri attack will be “avenged with full force”, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said an enquiry will be initiated to investigate the security lapses.
Speaking to the media after meeting the family members of civilians killed in the attack on Sunday, Sinha said they will avenge the Rajouri attack with full force.
“All measures will be taken to protect everyone. The families have raised few concerns. We will address all their concerns. We held a meeting and some decisions have been made. We will investigate the matter from all possible angles. It is an inhuman act and those responsible will be punished,” he said.
Sinha said questions have been raised over security lapses and an enquiry committee will be initiated. “The administration and security agencies will probe the incident thoroughly and that justice will be delivered,”he said.
The LG said that there will be impactful actions in the area and those who committed the crime will face equal punishment.
He assured that all measures will be taken to protect people not only here but elsewhere too, wherever it is needed.
He said there is no compensation for the loss of precious lives, but it is the moral responsibility of the administration to reach out to the bereaved families and express solidarity.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met with family members of thosemartyred in the barbaric terror attack in Rajouri and extended his condolences. He informed the family members that the entire nation and government stand solidly with the families in this hour of grief, and that the administration is dedicated to looking after the needs and concerns of all the families and people in the district. He also met with the Sarpanch of Dangri village, DDC, BDC members, and Martyrs’ families.
“We have given full freedom to the security forces and I want to assure the people that the perpetrators of this attack will be punished soon. Terrorists will have to pay a very heavy price for this despicable attack. It is our firm resolve to crush terrorists and terror ecosystem,” Lt Governor observed during the meeting. He also said that the VDC will be strengthened immediately and in-depth investigation will be carried out in the incident.
He is also visiting site of attack followed by a security meeting with top officials of JKP, CAPF and Army at the District Headquarters.
Lt Governor said death cannot be compensated, it is an irreparable loss. He had announced Rs.10 Lakh and a Govt job to NoKs of each of those civilians martyred in attack.
DGP Dilbag Singh, ACS Home RK Goyal, Divisional Commissioner, ADGP and leaders of various political parties were also present in the meeting with families and Sarpanch.
