DC Anantnag visits panchayats, reviews preparations for B2V4

Anantnag, Oct 26: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom Wednesday conducted a whirlwind tour of several panchayats in connection with preparations for the fourth phase of Back to Village Program.
Dr Basharat visited several panchayats in Dachnipora, Khoveripora and Qazigund areas and took stock of the preparations in place. 
He first visited Siligam where he reviewed the preparations for the B2V4 program. He interacted with employees at the CSC center where he discussed the progress in registrations under Self Employment schemes. 
The DC directed the banks, employees from Industries and Employment to ensure that hassle free registrations are carried out and youth are provided a platform to earn sustainable livelihood. 
He also inspected the Rural Haat setup by the Rural Development Department. Interacting with SHGs, he said that Rural Haats should become a permanent feature for marketing of their products.
Regarding the upcoming Back to Village program, the DC said focus has to be on ensuring that all stakeholders can voice their opinion regarding development activities and implementation of schemes. 
He said that the visiting officers have been deployed to ensure that they can voice the genuine issues being raised by people in a transparent manner so that effective solutions can be undertaken as well as to review the implementation of welfare measures on the ground and identify gap areas. He appealed to the people to come forward and participate enthusiastically in the program.
Speaking about involvement of youth, the DC said that youth have an important say in the course of development. He said that youth clubs must highlight youth centric issues in the upcoming B2V4 program.  
Interacting with the sarpanches and panches, DC said that PRIs must lead from the front to keep their panchayats garbage free, clean and should conduct regular gram sabhas for proper projection of their genuine demands.
The DC visited Multi-Purpose Stadium at Bijbehara where the 23rd District SQAY championship had been organized. He felicitated the participants. At the occasion, the participants displayed their skills in martial arts and Yoga. 
Dr Basharat said that students are taking interest in various sports activities which will help them in development of physique and mental health besides and keep them at bay from drug menace and other social evils.
The DC also visited Nipura and Panzeth in Qazigund block and reviewed the preparations for B2V4, took stock of registrations under self-employment schemes and other activities undertaken as part of Jan Abhiyan.
The DC was accompanied by ACD, BDOs and other officers.
