Srinagar, July 11: Srinagar police arrested two individuals on Tuesday in connection with the severe assault and injury inflicted upon a fellow LLB student at Kashmir University.
According to the victim’s family, the incident occurred on Monday, and on Tuesday, the accused launched another attack, leaving the victim in critical condition. A case has been registered against the accused under FIR no 86/2023, invoking relevant sections, at the Nigeen police station. The investigation into the matter is currently underway.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Ali Aga, son of Late Aga Nisar Ali, a resident of Rajbagh, and Burhan Hilal Bhat, son of Hilal Ahmad Bhat, hailing from Qazibagh Anantnag.
Expressing deep concern, Hussain Mohammad, the Dean of the Law Department at Kashmir University, described the incident as highly unfortunate and stressed that it should never have transpired.
He emphasized the importance of utilizing time constructively in today’s world, where individuals aspire to lead peaceful lives, and acts of violence have no place.
The dean further noted the profound disappointment experienced by parents when they enroll their children in educational institutions, hoping for a promising future. Incidents like these deeply affect them, and he urged students to exercise caution and be mindful of their actions.
Confirming the arrest of the two accused, a police officer informed Rising Kashmir that the investigation is ongoing, as authorities seek to gather further evidence and information related to the case.
