Amid the inclement weather Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, conducted a surprise inspection of various government offices on Monday to check the attendance of officials.

During the inspection, the DC found 14 officials to be unauthorizedly absent from their duties and put them under suspension. These officials included 11 from the Rural Development Department and three from the Tehsildar Office in Kupwara.

The surprise visit was conducted to ensure that government officials and employees remain punctual and fulfill their responsibilities.

The offices inspected included the ACD Office, ACP Office, Executive Engineer REW, Tehsildar Office Kupwara, JKEDI, DECC, and Prosecution Office.

The DC also enquired about the work done by the various departments and instructed the concerned officials to improve their efficiency. During the inspection, the DC also inspected the Record Room of Tehsil Office Kupwara and directed the concerned officials to dispose of old records as per the procedure so that space could be made available for the upkeep of the latest records.

This surprise inspection comes as part of the administration’s efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in government offices. The DC has urged officials and employees to remain punctual and carry out their duties with utmost dedication and sincerity.

The suspension of the 14 officials should serve as a warning to others who may not be fulfilling their responsibilities.
