Jammu, June 02: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, has impressed upon the people to question the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers when they come to their doorsteps under the much-hyped ‘Maha Jan Samparak Abhiyan’ as to what is there to celebrate the nine years of BJP’s governance that has brought to the people “nothing but a hell of miseries”.
“The celebration of failures calling these achievements by the BJP government is indeed an unprecedented mockery of the saffron party,” he said in a statement issued here, adding, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been the worst victims of the BJP’s misrule that has resulted out of its anti-people policies thrust upon the people of this Union Territory.”
The senior NC leader said the Union Territory administration has “utterly failed” to resolve the power scenario here during its nine years of governance at the Centre. “The power situation has gone from bad to worse during these years,” he said.
Even the drinking water and irrigation scenario is no good too. The Jammu City continues to face the dry situation with people craving for regular drinking water supply, he said, adding that the farmers are also suffering on account of erratic power and water supply with their crops at stake.
Rattan Lal requested the people to ask the BJP leader why the LG government has not engaged an adequate number of doctors and paramedics in the health centre across the Jammu region. He also questioned the J&K administration on its claims of industrialization, asking it to spell out the number of medium, small and large-scale industries that were established in Jammu Province and how much employment has been provided to industrial workers as per the commitment made by Home Minister Amit Shah on the floor of Parliament on August 5, 2019.
He asked the people of the Jammu region to raise a question before the BJP leadership “why are the recruitment agencies playing with the future of J&K youth, and why the daily wagers are on roads”.
“The failure on issues enumerated above constitutes only a tip of the iceberg and reveals that celebrating nine years of governance under ‘Maha Jan Samparak Abhiyaan’ is only a mockery of the BJP and its government at the Centre,” Gupta said.
