Narrow Band UVB whole body chamber was inaugurated at GMC Baramulla by the worthy Principal Dr. (Prof) Ruby Reshi.

Head of the Department of Dermatology Dr. (Prof) Syed Mubashir, Academics Registrar Dr. (Prof) Nazir Ah Khan, head department of Anaesthesia Dr. (Prof) Basharat Saleem and Medical Superintendent Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi were also present on the occasion.

It is the first of its kind machine in North Kashmir to facilitate the patients who had to be referred to a higher centre like SMHS/SKIMS for this procedure.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. (Prof) Ruby Reshi said, “The new medical facilities in North Kashmir will be of immense help to the people of the region. Before these facilities, patients had to travel to Srinagar three times a week for medical assistance. But with these new facilities, they will be able to receive the necessary care and treatment closer to home.”

Narrowband UVB treatment is to be given thrice a week which affects the patient’s day-to-day activities due to long-term compliance to the treatment for months and would be problematic in view of time efforts and financial implications.

Due to the efforts of worthy Principal Dr. (Prof) Ruby Reshi in collaboration with the Department of Dermatology GMC Baramulla availability of this service has made it easy for people of north Kashmir to avail the treatment facility.

The department of Dermatology is hopeful for further improvement and betterment of the Department of Dermatology GMC Baramulla.
