Srinagar, Jun 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council (JKMC) has issued the final allotment list of medical colleges for 281 Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) candidates who are set to undergo their Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) at designated government medical colleges and affiliated institutions across the Union Territory.
According to a notification issued by the Council, all FMGs are required to complete their CRMI in accordance with the CRMI Regulations, 2021, notified by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
JKMC said a draft merit list of FMG candidates was earlier uploaded on its website and objections, if any, were invited till May 25, 2026.
The final merit list was subsequently approved by the full Council during its meeting held on June 1, following which the final college allotment list for the first batch of FMGs for 2026 was issued.
The Council stated that the allotment of medical colleges has been made strictly on the basis of merit secured by candidates in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE).
It further clarified that the selected candidates will be allowed to join their allotted institutions only after obtaining provisional registration from the JKMC.
JKMC also said that admission to the internship programme will be subject to verification of original documents and certificates by the respective medical colleges. In case any candidate fails to join within the stipulated period, the vacant CRMI seat will be carried forward to candidates in the subsequent batch.
The Council warned that the allotment has been made based on information furnished by applicants and any discrepancy or submission of false information may lead to immediate cancellation of the allotment besides legal action.
