Srinagar, July 21: General Manager, Northern Railway Shobhan Chaudhuri on Friday conducted Inspection of Banihal-Baramulla Rail Section of the USBRL Project in Kashmir and emphasized on urgency of putting Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train services soon into operation.
The GM was accompanied by Shri S.P. Mahi, Chief Administrative Officer, USBRL Project along with Chief Area Manager, Srinagar; Team of USBRL Project and other Senior Officials of Northern Railway’s Firozpur Division.
Chaudhuri was apprised of several upcoming initiatives planned for Kashmir Valley, viz., establishment of Goods’ Sheds at strategic locations like Baramulla, Sopore, Pampore, Awantipora and Anantnag.
The General Manager expressed admiration for the successful implementation of the One Station One Product Scheme in the Kashmir Valley.
He also inspected the Train Maintenance Facilities at DEMU Shed, Budgam & Vistadome Coach and instructed Officials to maintain the high-quality standards.
Chaudhuri emphasized the urgency of putting MEMU Train Services into operation as soon as possible.
Chief Area Manager Kashmir, Sakib Yousuf Yatoo told Rising Kashmir that GM Northern Railways inspected various projects in the Valley and appreciated the efforts of staff.
