Jammu, Oct 09: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) is gearing up for two monumental rallies in Khari, Banihal, and Ramban, anticipating the participation of thousands of party workers to mark these events as historic, the party said on Monday.
The party’s senior leader and general secretary R S Chib in a statement said the people of Ramban are eagerly preparing to welcome the party chairman and former chief minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad. The rallies are scheduled to take place in Khari on October 22 and in Ramban on October 28, he said.
“I have been personally overseeing the arrangements and met with the people today, who are enthusiastic and ready to join the rally,” Chib said.
DPAP Chief Spokesperson Salman Nizami, according to the statement, visited Khari to assess the preparations and noted the gratitude of the local people toward Azad for the developmental work carried out during his tenure as chief minister of the erstwhile state.
People firmly believe that Azad can bring positive change to the union territory, securing their future and political rights, he said.
Meanwhile, senior party leader G M Saroori highlighted the anticipation among the people of Ramban and Khari for Azad’s rallies. Provincial President Jugal Kishore expressed that the twin rallies planned for Banihal and Ramban would redefine political dynamics in Jammu and Kashmir, representing some of the largest political gatherings since 2019.
