Srinagar, Feb 24: The eight-day vocational training program on mushroom farming, conducted by the 10 Bn Sashstra Seema Bal in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Srinagar, concluded on Saturday. Aimed at fostering self-employment opportunities for local Kashmiri youth, the program equipped 22 participants from various districts of Kashmir with essential skills and knowledge in mushroom cultivation.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in theoretical classes, interactive workshops, and practical sessions led by experienced professionals in the field. Topics covered included mushroom cultivation technology, economic aspects, compost making, and disease management. Additionally, participants visited successful mushroom farming startups for practical insights.
The closing ceremony, attended by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Professor Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, and Rajdarshan Singh Rawat, Commanding Officer of 10 Bn SSB Batmaloo, Srinagar, saw the distribution of certificates to all participants.
