Jammu, Sept 29: The BJP’s entire unit of Kashmir, including the senior leaders, has been found to be indulged in anti-party activities of a serious nature after the party’s disciplinary committee issued notices to all such valley-based leaders.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded an unconditional apology from all the senior leaders of the valley within a week failing which they will be suspended for their anti-party activities which amount to be of “serious nature”.
The notices for anti-party activities have been issued to eight leaders namely GM Mir, Dr Ali Mohd Mir, Altaf Thakur, Asif Masoodi, Arif Raja, Anwar Khan, Manzoor Bhat and Bilal Parray.
“The entire Kashmir unit of our party has been found to be involved in a revolt against the BJP,” the party’s chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi informed Rising Kashmir, adding, “There was a revolt-like situation in the entire unit of the BJP and the senior leaders were found to be involved in anti-party activities for the past few months.”
The anti-party activities were such that the BJP had to issue notices to all the leaders involved.
Meanwhile, a BJP leader, wishing anonymity, said the senior BJP leaders of Kashmir had now resorted to “blackmailing the party, putting forward various unjustified and out-of-the-box demands on one pretext or the other”.
They had been demanding prime positions in the party, besides other favours, he said.
While conducting an inquiry into the case of indiscipline against Sofi Yusuf, Vice President of J&K BJP, it has come to the fore that there are serious allegations and proof of indiscipline against each one of you, the notice issued by the Disciplinary Committee of the BJP mentions, alleging that these eight leaders have indulged in activities that are prejudicial to the maintenance of discipline in the party.
“By your activities sense of mistrust has been created in party leadership and keeping in view your position in the party and your past contributions, Disciplinary Committee has decided to give you one opportunity to submit your unconditional apology for your conduct and not to repeat in future any such activity failing which Disciplinary Committee will initiate regular proceedings against you and which may lead to your removal for official positions and even from Primary Membership of BJP in case allegations of indiscipline are established,” the notice served through WhatsApp reads.
