Srinagar, Oct 28: The Indian Minorities Foundation on Saturday organised a remarkable Sufi event in Srinagar where Manzoor Bhat, a senior party leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), took centre stage. The event received the distinguished presence of the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, as the chief guest.
The highlight of this event was the presentation of the Youth Icon and Inspiration Award to Manzoor Bhat by LG Manoj Sinha, recognising his outstanding contributions to the community and his unwavering dedication to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Manzoor Bhat expressed his deep gratitude for the honour. He paid tribute to the “transformative vision” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “This award symbolises the collective dreams and aspirations of our beloved Jammu and Kashmir, a region that has undergone a remarkable metamorphosis under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Let us applaud Shri Narendra Modi for his resolute dedication to a thriving and harmonious Jammu and Kashmir. This award is not just a recognition of my efforts but a testament to the resilience and spirit of the youth of our region.”
Bhat credited LG Manoj Sinha’s administration for playing a pivotal role in bringing about a period of significant development, characterised by a reduction in strikes and curfews. This environment has allowed the youth to concentrate on their careers and aspirations rather than being drawn into militancy, he said.
Manzoor underscored the “visionary aspirations” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a prosperous and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir, hailed the “dynamic leadership” of PM Modi as a driving force behind the region’s “tremendous progress” in various sectors, including infrastructure and tourism.
The BJP youth leader’s dedicated efforts extend far beyond this event. He has consistently organised various initiatives in Kashmir, addressing pressing issues such as the drug menace. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was at the forefront of relief distribution to support the local population.
The event also saw the presence of notable individuals, including Satnam Singh Sadhu, founder councillor of Chandigarh University, as well as respected Kashmiri clerics, Moulana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi and Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, along with renowned international Islamic clerics.
