Jammu, May 10: Gandhi Global Family (GGF) J&K Saturday organised its third Blood Donation Camp at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu. The camp was held under the supervision of Dr. S.P. Varma, President, GGF J&K and Dr. Mitali Sharma, Assistant Professor, GMC Jammu, in the presence of Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal, GMC Jammu and Dr. Sanjogita Soodan, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Super Speciality Hospital Jammu. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from GGF executives, members and dedicated volunteers.
This noble initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation, particularly in the context of the ongoing war in the subcontinent, including the cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. It is pertinent to mention that Dr. Alka Sharma, President, GGF Jammu women, was the first to donate blood at the camp, setting an inspiring example for others. She was followed by other members Dr. Nitan Sharma, Er. Ankush Varma and many other volunteers from the civil society. GGF J&K extends heartfelt gratitude to all blood donors, medical professionals and volunteers who contributed to the success of the camp. The organization reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare. It also announced plans to continue organizing such impactful camps across Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, GGF’s first camp was conducted in Srinagar in collaboration with the Care Foundation, while the second was successfully held at GMC Rajouri by the respective GGF district teams.
