Srinagar, April 12: In a progressive move to promote transparency and community trust, Srinagar Police has launched a QR code-based feedback management system, titled ‘BHAROSA QR’, to gather real-time public input on police services and conduct.
The initiative enables citizens to scan QR codes installed at all police stations, police offices, bus stops, marketplaces and major public institutions. Upon scanning, users are directed to a secure online portal where they can submit feedback, suggestions, or grievances related to police responsiveness, professionalism and service quality. “The process is quick, simple and takes less than a minute,” an official release said.
To further enhance accessibility, a dedicated WhatsApp number (8899112888) has also been introduced, allowing the public to share feedback via text, voice notes, images, or videos. The system is designed to be anonymous and user-friendly, encouraging inclusive participation from diverse sections of society. A specialised feedback management cell, established at the SSP Srinagar office, will monitor submissions regularly. It aims to ensure swift redressal of complaints and to recognise commendable performance by police personnel.
The initiative was conceptualised by Vaibhav Meena, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nehru Park, and reflects a community-oriented approach to modern policing. This latest step complements Srinagar Police’s wider modernisation drive, which includes dedicated helplines for police verification and reporting drug-related offences. Citizens are strongly encouraged to utilise the new platform and actively contribute to building a more transparent, responsive, and accountable policing environment in Srinagar.
