Jammu, Mar 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched ‘Mission Kashmir’ to strengthen its presence and expand its base in the Kashmir region, following directions from the party’s high command.
As part of this strategy, the entire BJP unit in Kashmir is set for a revamp, with new district teams being formed across all ten districts of the valley, bringing in young and fresh faces to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
“New district teams with young and dynamic faces will soon be constituted in all 10 districts of Kashmir to strengthen the party at the grassroots level,” said Munish Khajuria, Co-incharge of BJP’s membership drive, while speaking to Rising Kashmir.
J&K BJP President Sat Sharma has been camping in Kashmir for the last two days to oversee the restructuring process.
Sharma on Wednesday convened a key meeting at the BJP office S-1 in Srinagar, where he met with nominated district presidents of Kashmir division to discuss the reconstitution of district teams.
“During the meeting, the BJP President sought detailed feedback from all district presidents regarding the formation of new teams. Their suggestions and reports will be discussed with the party high command before finalizing the new teams,” a party leader said.
He added that the BJP’s revamp of its Kashmir unit is a strategic move aimed at making deeper inroads into the region and expanding its political influence.
