Budgam, Mar 26: The tehsil administration of Beerwah in Budgam district on Wednesday destroyed the expired food items confiscated during intensive market checking.
An official from Beerwah told Rising Kashmir that the market checking was conducted under the supervision of the tehsildar Beerwah, Maeen Azhar Kakroo .
“The food items were destroyed in the presence of Naib Tehsildar Beerwah Abdul Qayoum and officials of Municipal Committee Beerwah. The market value of the destroyed food items was approximately twenty thousand rupees,” the official said.
He said that all food business operators are again instructed not to sell the expired food items, failing which legal action under relevant sections of law shall be initiated.
