Vibrant celebrations mark International Women’s Day across J&K

Srinagar, March 08: Cluster University Srinagar Saturday organised an event to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Mobin was the chief guest on the occasion while renowned Kashmiri poet Prof. Naseem Shafaie was the special guest. Prof. Naseem Shafaie spoke about the pivotal role of women in society. She reflected on the challenges and achievements of women.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Mobin reiterated the importance of recognizing and honouring women’s invaluable contributions to society. She expressed gratitude to the distinguished poet for sharing her insights and enriching the event. As a token of appreciation, he presented a memento to the special guest, acknowledging her valuable contribution.
Earlier while welcoming the guests, Dean of Humanities and Liberal Arts, Dr. Deeba Sarmad highlighted the significance of the occasion. She referred to Prof. Naseem Shafaie’s contribution to Kashmiri literature, acknowledging her role in shaping literary discourse in the region. Others present on the occasion included Registrar Dr. Willayat Hussain Rizvi, Controller of Examination Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Mir, Principals of various constituent colleges, Deans, Assistant Registrar, NSS Coordinator, and other University officers.
