In the first instance, the two-day Electrical Safety Workshop was organised at the KPDCL Data Centre, Bemina. The workshop was aimed at enhancing the safety knowledge of field staff and linemen working within the jurisdiction of O&M Circles Ist and IInd, Srinagar.

The opening session was held in the presence of Chief Engineer (Distribution), Superintending Engineers from Circle Ist & IInd, and CEO of IT&C KPDCL. The audio visual sessions were held through specifically designed modules aimed to promote workplace safety and best practices among KPDCL field employees. A batch of 60 field officials attended the program.
During the opening session, MD KPDCL underscored the critical importance of adhering to safety protocols on work sites, urging the field staff to prioritize safety above all else.

The trainers provided valuable insights into the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be followed during construction works, routine maintenance works, breakdown maintenance and rectification of faults emphasizing the need and role of field staff in ensuring safe operations. Live demonstration regarding the use of safety gear was also held.

The trainers were drawn from various wings of JKPDD and Electrical Inspectorate.

A guest lecture was delivered by Er. Bashir Ahmed Dar, former Secretary Technical JKPDD and MD of KPTCL, who shared his experience and expertise on precautionary measures during construction works and the critical role of SOPs in safeguarding both personnel and public safety.
