In yet another significant effort to curb the drug menace and dismantle illegal narcotic networks, Police in Srinagar has attached the property of a notorious drug peddler valuing at worth lakhs of rupees in Noorbagh area of Srinagar under the provisions of NDPS Act.

This stern legal action stems from case FIR No. 134/2024, registered against the drug peddler namely Mohd Irfan Sheikh son of Mohd Ashraf Sheikh resident of Pamposh Colony Palpora, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Noorbagh.

During investigation, it came to fore that a huge quantity of narcotic drugs had been seized and the accused had acquired substantial property including a house and land through the proceeds of illegal drug trade. Adhering to relevant legal procedures, the property valued in lakhs (house and land) has been attached under the NDPS Act.

A series of strong legal actions by Srinagar Police is to convey a message to one and all involved in drug-related crimes that long arm of law would catch up with them sooner or later. Police targets not only offenders for the crimes they commit but also their unlawfully acquired assets would be attached and seized under law of the land.

Police yet again appeals to the general public to assist us in the fight against drug trafficking by sharing any relevant information. Together, we can work towards creating a safer, drug-free society.
