IBPR, SKUAST-K launch initiative for technology led scaling of SME’s

Srinagar, Dec 23: With an objective to equip Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with practical strategies and tools to navigate the challenges of digital transformation and leverage technology for sustainable growth, Institute of Business and Policy Research (IBPR) organized a Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) supported Advanced Management Program entitled “Digitization of SMEs for Fostering Resilience and Profitability” at SKUAST-Kashmir, Shalimar.
A statement issued here said that this comprehensive program addresses the diverse needs of SMEs by focusing on actionable strategies tailored to their specific contexts. “Participants are likely to be benefited from interactive sessions offering valuable insights into implementation of effective digital solutions,” the statement said.
It said that during an inaugural session Dr. Abid Sultan, the Organizing Secretary, who emphasized the vital role of SMEs in economic development. Prof. Farhet A. Shaheen, Scientist at IBPR, underscored the transformative potential of digitization in reshaping business operations.
Prof. S. H. Baba, Head, IBPR deliberated upon how this program has been designed to equip SME leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to embrace digital transformation, build resilience, and unlock new opportunities for growth. He reiterated that from expert-led sessions to hands-on workshops, every element of this initiative has been carefully designed to deliver actionable solutions.
Prof. S. A. Wani, Dean of the Faculty of Horticulture, emphasized that the digitization offers immense potential to enhance operational efficiency and build the agility among SME’s for navigating uncertainties. He expressed confidence that the sessions, discussions, and workshops planned for this week will provide participants with practical insights and strategies to harness the power of technology effectively. He applauded the Institute of Business and Policy Research for their efforts in organizing this impactful program and for their commitment to supporting SMEs in their journey toward digital transformation. The program was coordinated by Dr. O.F. Khan and moderated by Dr. Farheen Naqash
