Paras Health Srinagar: Golden Hour Intervention crucial to save lives, says Dr Kenu

Srinagar, Dec 10: Paras Health Srinagar has reaffirmed its position as a leader in emergency and critical care by successfully saving lives during the crucial ‘Golden Hour.’

In the first case of stroke management, a 47-year-old patient arrived at the Emergency Department exhibiting symptoms of a stroke, including slurred speech and limb weakness, facial deviation.
Diagnosed with a right middle cerebral artery infarct, the patient was within the therapeutic window for thrombolysis. Following prompt treatment, the patient’s condition improved significantly within 24 hours, highlighting the importance of immediate care during emergencies.
In the second case of Polytrauma, a 70-year-old patient with a history of bypass surgery (CABG) was brought to the hospital after sustaining severe injuries from a wood-cutting accident. The hospital’s emergency team resuscitated after stabilizing the patient, conducted intricate surgical reconstruction and repairs to address multiple injuries, including tendon and nerve repairs, reconstruction of the radial artery, Repair of facial lacerations, etc. The successful outcome showcased the hospital’s expertise in handling multi-system trauma cases despite the challenges of anticoagulant therapy.
Similarly, in a third case of heart attack, the hospital team’s swift action saved the life of a 55-year-old patient. The patient experienced two episodes of ventricular tachycardia (VT), after stabilizing the patient through defibrillation during transport to the Cath Lab, the interventional cardiology team performed a successful angioplasty to restore blood flow. Notably, the hospital has deployed special free ambulance services to rush such emergency patients in the crucial golden hour or initial 60-minute window, to maximize their chances of living.
