Reasi, Nov 29: A public outreach program was held on Friday near Jama Masjid Dewal, where Vice Chairperson of the District Development Council (DDC), Reasi, Sajra Qadir, listened to the issues of the people.
The deliberations focused on reviewing ongoing developmental works, addressing public grievances, and ensuring the effective implementation of schemes in the area.
The residents raised several pressing concerns, seeking improved road connectivity, power supply to newly electrified areas, and addressing unconnected regions of Sub-Division Mahore, including Gulabgarh, Mahore, and Chassana.
Other demands put forth by the locals included the renovation of the irrigation canals at Dewal and adjoining areas, as well as the repair and improvement of services at the local hospitals.
The public also sought the intervention of the Sheep Husbandry department to cater to the needs of the livestock-dependent population.
Concerns were also raised about the lack of school buildings, with a demand for the immediate construction of the same. The need for timely electricity bill dispatches by the Power Development Department (PDD) was highlighted, along with requests for the Forest Department to expedite the construction of footbridges in inaccessible areas.
In addition, the citizens sought detailed awareness about the Marriage Assistance Scheme offered by the Social Welfare Department to ensure eligible beneficiaries could avail themselves of the benefits.
Responding to these demands, the Vice Chairperson directed PMGSY teams to conduct detailed surveys to propose road projects for unconnected areas, particularly focusing on Ranglai to Dewal, Dewal to Kaindora via Vandara, Paghila to Kindora via Gulabgarh, and Arbais to Shabras. She assured the public that swift action would be taken to ensure the timely completion of ongoing projects in the area.
Key officials, including the Tehsildar Mahore, Executive Engineers of PWD and PMGSY Mahore, Block Development Officer Gulabgarh, AEE JPDCL, AEE Jal Shakti, BMO Mahore, Range Officer Mahore, CDPO Mahore, ZEO Mahore, Agriculture Extension Officer Lar, SDO Sheep Husbandry Mahore, VAS Animal Husbandry Mahore, Horticulture Development Officer Mahore, TSO Mahore, TSWO Mahore, and Incharge Fisheries Department Mahore, attended the meeting to provide updates and address public grievances.
This collaborative effort between the administration and public representatives underscores a commitment to resolving key issues and accelerating development in Mahore and its surrounding areas, ensuring better living standards for all residents.
