Jammu, Nov 06: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday held a strong protest demonstration here against the resolution introduced in the J&K Assembly demanding restoration of Article 370, which gave special status to this erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Article 370 won’t come back even if a thousand resolutions are passed by the J&K Assembly,” the J&K BJP president, Sat Sharma said while speaking to reporters during the protest demonstration.
He said Article 370 is history and has been buried deep down. “NC is trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere and is misleading the people,” he added..
Later, talking to reporters after a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Sharma reiterated the abrogation of Article 370 has ensured the complete integration of J&K with India.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi abrogated Article 370 after which peace has been established in J&K and a record number of tourists have been visiting here. People are living in a peaceful atmosphere and earning their livelihood in a dignified manner,” he said.
The J&K BJP president termed the Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary as ‘Jaichand’ of Jammu. “Surinder Chowdhary sought votes promising people to take care of the interests of Jammu but now he has become ‘Jaichand’ of Jammu,” Sharma said.
Earlier, the BJP workers raised slogans against NC. They also burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary amid slogans, ‘Nak Te Makhi Ben Ni Deni, Omar Sarkar Ren Ni Deni, and Omar Abdullah Hai Hai and Surinder Chowdhary Hai Hai’.
