Pulwama, August 30 : The Office of the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama has issued a weather advisory urging residents to stay cautious in light of adverse weather conditions forecasted for the next seven days.
According to the advisory the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, has predicted a series of adverse weather events, including heavy rainfall, flash floods, cloudbursts, landslides, thunderstorms, and potential earthquakes.
The advisory specifically cautions those residing near the banks of the Jhelum River, its tributaries, and surrounding nallas.
“Residents are advised to avoid venturing near these water bodies and to limit outdoor activities until the weather conditions improve.
Furthermore, boatmen are urged to exercise extreme caution and to avoid crossing the Jhelum River at designated ferry points unless they have thoroughly assessed the safety of the situation,” the advisory reads.
